So what's new in your part of the world. We have circles appearing on the lake.

Someone is cutting bundles of sticks. They are neatly stacked and snow gathers.

I have been looking though a pile of cords in the charity shop. No one was buying them, I decided to turn them into skirts lined in housecoat material. They are incredibly comfortable, having been already worn in. Very warm and lovely shades of green.

  1. OO I really like that idea jane, did you make a pattern? I have been looking for corduroy things here but the only stuff I've seen in the charity shops has been new even with labels intact and I don't feel happy to cut those up and there were expensive too... How funny we both were looking for the same thing!
Those circles are fabulous... Nothing new here just painful spasming and nerve trapping continuing... 4 treatments in a week my body really hurts! Dx

    1. I think my mind has been working on overdrive after seeing your corduroy coat!! I am now looking for a jacket!
Take care, the spasms sound challenging. The temperature is creeping up by degrees. Still light snowings. Jxx

  2. Same as you....lots of snow....snowed in ...keeping warm wearing thermals and enjoying the heat from the kitchen wood burner. Thank God for the internet! Great photos, thanks for sharing.

    1. I was out again in the snow today. I keep thinking we're over it and then it falls a bit more. It's All Hail the wood burner here too. My wood dealer is my hero. Be great to catch up with you when the weather clears up a bit. Coffee in Chateau Chinon?

  3. I just tried to reply to your comment on my blog but you appear as a 'no-reply' blogger'. This is what I had written ... "Oh, I know the cords you mean ... I love the colours too. They remind me of my favourite old art teacher who had a humungous nicotine stained moustache and always wore big, soft baggy cords in a bright green with a matted Fair Isle jumper!"
Glad you managed to get some and I love what you have done with them.

    1. Oh, I hope I haven't done something strange. Maybe I should look into that on the comments front.
Art teachers, now there's a group of interesting people. I did a stint as Social worker/Youth Arts Worker. Your art teacher sounds particularly special. You know I predict corduroy as a new thing. It's great if you play around with the formula. Unfortunately the trousers make me look a bit strange and they can feel like you are being swamped. Maybe jodpurs would be ok. I feel quite good in the skirts though. I think Monty Don looks quite good in his!
