So what's new in your part of the world. We have circles appearing on the lake.

Someone is cutting bundles of sticks. They are neatly stacked and snow gathers.

I have been looking though a pile of cords in the charity shop. No one was buying them, I decided to turn them into skirts lined in housecoat material. They are incredibly comfortable, having been already worn in. Very warm and lovely shades of green.

Sunday walk

The first thing I do in winter, while the grass is frozen, is give the 5 sheep their sheep nuts. Each time I do this I love it. How can you not be impressed by a beautiful primordial looking ram such as this. We don't shave them as they would be freezing in winter without the woolly fleece. They do rather well in winter. The sun shines and they seem to enjoy whiling away an afternoon lay about waiting to be fed. Their shaggy locks are a disadvantage in summer. We have very long summers and while being in the mountains it's not ever too hot the sheep stay in the cav during the hottest days.

I walked just below the lake in the village where lies an abandoned mill. The window still exists as you can see as do all the  workings within.

The stream has a frozen skirt. Each frozen day brings ever more elaborate formations of ice.

Fox prints across the lake.

After a long springlike Autumn and often times springlike winter we have had a few sprinklings of snow. We have had storms and high winds. For 5 days we had AJP days. Here our cheap electric for most of the year depends on us having expensive days of national high usage. So when it's freezing we rely on stoves and wood for fuel and our trusty gas bottles for our cooking. We like it like this a bit of a challenge.
Otherwise I reupholstered my sofa by hand to be finished this weekend on my sewing machine, another story. I made, I think a rather impressive covering for my bolster. A few good veggie soups and I have made lots of Christmas cards. Not only but also I have found a charity shop which is so brimming with secondhand clothes at oldschool charity prices I am dancing on tap shoes. Not only but this I have found an lovely blog www.mechantstudio.com do have a look

A sweet tin shed that I have been clearing out and drawing too. I have had a bug which has left me feeling exhausted so only had a little energy for drawing. I want to get into the habit of being outside drawing from life. I'm hoping this place will be somewhere I can work in the shade of the limeflower tree.
