Fragny

Painting in progress it portrays a small hamlet here in Nievres, Sud Morvan.
It's been a beautiful day today, I am hoping to go to the local town on the longest day for their festival of Rent. They celebrate by looking to the past and have huntsman blowing horns, maids demonstrating the washing of linen, there are tractors and my favourite is a mock old bar. There is a meal in the evening and clog dancing!

  2. I went to town today and it looks like the fete I was hoping for is not on. There is music on the 23rd and a fair is arriving. The village is having a do and there is a really good brocante this weekend just nearby.
I have all my wheels for the van. Ring soon xx

  3. too bad about the festival, that sounded fun. I was going to offer my linens to be cleaned, if they needed any to play practice on. :)

this work is very lush, the green at the height of its blossom.

    1. Gosh I didn't think of that, a demo on my own linen. I must dig out the photos I took a couple of years ago when I enjoyed a festive day.
It's so green here luscious from rain, lousy May my Dutch neighbour called it today, and he wears clogs.

    1. Hi Lynn, I hope your painting is going well. I am struggling with light levels here. The vines take over the outside of the verandah, where I work. If they weren't there the place gets too hot. This year is just not quite bright enough. That and the old eyesight...
